  • Facilities: Starveall Hut sits at about 1, 180 m on a spur beneath Mt Starveall in Mount Richmond Forest Park. Managed by DOC, this six‑bunk standard hut was built in the late 1960s by NZFS and refurbished in 2010, replacing an older shelter. Accessible via a steep 6‑hour tramp from Hacket Creek Road, it offers basic comforts—mattresses, heating and non‑flush toilets—and a water supply that must be boiled.
