- Facilities: Parawai Lodge sits in a grassy clearing just across the swing bridge at Ōtaki Forks, offering a cozy base for Tararua Range trampers. Built by the Parawai Tramping Club in 1970 and relocated in 1986, it now sleeps 18 on mattresses warmed by a wood stove. Managed by DOC, it’s a short stroll from the Boielles Flat carpark and remains first‑come, first‑served.
