Managed by DOC, this modest backcountry shelter offers a wood‑burner, basic mattresses and rain‑fed tap water. Originally built in 1963 by NZFS and refreshed in 2012, it sleeps ten and lies along the remote Old Ghost Road route, free and first‑come.
