Lake Hankinson Hut Guide

- Facilities: Lake Hankinson Hut stands beside its namesake lake in remote western Fiordland, offering a rustic refuge with heating, mattresses and basic water that must be boiled. Built in the 1920s to shelter hydro‐survey teams, it now provides 11 bunks and is maintained by DOC with support from the Fiordland Wapiti Foundation. Access involves a short boat ride across Lake Hankinson after a brief walk from the Middle Fiord.
