- Facilities: Sylvester Hut is located at about 1, 320 m on the tussock-lined ridge above Cobb Valley in Kahurangi National Park. Operated by DOC, this 12‑bunk serviced hut—warm with a wood‑burner, mattresses and basic toilet—replaced the old Bushline Hut in 2003. Accessible via a zig‑zagging 4WD track from Cobb Dam Road, it offers sweeping views toward the Arthur Range and makes a fine base for alpine lake explorations.
