Built as a private cabin in the early 1990s and upgraded by the Rod Donald Banks Peninsula Trust in 2014, it opened to trampers in November 2015. At about 520 m elevation, this serviced hut sleeps nine and lies a 50‑minute walk from Port Levy Saddle along Te Ara Pātaka.
