Kongshelleren, located by Kongshellervatnet, was opened in 1980. From this high-altitude cabin, there are several lodges within walking distance. The terrain is occasionally hilly, but from the cabin there are long downhill slopes that make it easy to get on to Geiterygghytta and Steinbergdalen. The hike from Iungsdalshytta, via Kongshelleren to Geiterygghytta is beautiful and varied. You walk here through green saddle valleys and up into rugged and wild high mountain scenery. Kongshelleren is easily accessible both on foot and on skis.
