Geiterygghytta – Climbing, Hiking & Mountaineering information

Geiterygghytta is located at an altitude of 1224 meters in the heart of Skarvheimen and is a popular hiking destination in summer and winter for both adults and children. The cabin is easily accessible, only 3 km from the FV 50 between Hol and Aurland, while you can also go on longer hikes and come from other cabins such as Finse, Hallingskeid, Kongshelleren Iungsdalshytta and Aurlandsdalen tourist cabin. DNT has a well-developed route network in the area and the cabin, often called the pearl of Skarvheimen, connects the cabins and routes in the area and is the gateway to Hallingskarvet National Park and a great starting point for a trip to the wild and beautiful Aurlandsdalen valley. The nature is magnificent, wild and beautiful, with Hallingskarvet as its closest neighbor. Geiterygghytta, opened as early as 1914, has 88 beds divided into 2-4 bed rooms, family rooms and dormitories.
