Julia Hut Guide

- Facilities: Julia Hut rests modestly on a lower terrace in the Kelly Range–Styx River area, offering six bunks in a heated, mattress-lined refuge where water must be boiled before use. Built in 1986 by Lands & Survey to relieve demand on the older 1958 NZFS hut, it’s managed by DOC and accessed via a rugged Taipo Valley route often used in Main Divide crossings.
