Mid Taipo Hut Guide

- Facilities: Mid Taipo Hut lies at about 364 m in the Kelly Range–Styx River area, offering six bunks in a snug, wood‑heated shelter. Built in 1973 by the NZ Forest Service to replace an earlier riverside hut, it now sits downstream amid tussock flats and bush. Managed by DOC, it draws water from a tank-fed tap (boil before use) and is reached via a river‑flat track from Dillon Hut.
