Rembesdalseter is located on an old farm mound on the west side of Lake Rembesdalsvatnet and was completed in 1964. With Hardangerjøkulen right outside the living room window, this is a tempting hiking destination for many, especially those with experience. The terrain in the area is somewhat demanding, but there are T-marked routes to the cabin from Kjeldebu, Simadalen and Fossli. The route up from Simadalen is particularly impressive. There are also routes from Finse and Hallingskeid. You should be careful when going here in winter, as there can be a great risk of avalanches and the ice on Lake Rembesdalsvatnet is often unsafe due to regulation.
