Yksendalsbu is located in the green and lush Yksendalen valley, southeast of Fondsbu and Eidsbugarden. The self-catering cabin is a converted shepherd's hut that opened in 1993. Yksendalsbu is a great gateway to Jotunheimen. The walk from Yksendalsbu to Fondsbu is an experience, especially if you walk from Yksendalsbu and over to Vennistøldalen. Otherwise, you can follow the marked route to Bygdin høyfjellshotell on the ridge between Olefjorden and Bygdin.
