- Facilities: Westies Hut lies dramatically inside a sea‑cave at Prices Harbour on Fiordland’s remote South Coast Track. This quirky five‑bunk shelter, warmed by a wood‑and‑coal burner and supplied with mattresses and basic water, began life in the early 1990s as a fisherman’s refuge and was later expanded and reclad by local “Westie.” Now maintained by devoted caretakers, it offers a uniquely wild coastal stay.
