Tåkeheimen is located at the foot of Helgelandsbukken on the west side of Svartisen within Saltfjellet-Svartisen National Park. The nearest neighbors are the glacier arms Litlebreen and Engenbreen. The hut is Northern Norway's second highest tourist association hut (1073 m above sea level), and it serves as an overnight accommodation, as well as a base for glacier and mountain sports activities.
