As the first hut erected in the park, it offers rustic comfort with heating, mattresses and basic water (boil before use). Nine bunks accommodate overnight visitors. Managed by the Department of Conservation, it’s a short, well‑graded 7 km walk from Okahu Valley Road, ideal for a restful first night.
