- Facilities: Rocks Hut is found at about 810 m in Mount Richmond Forest Park, managed by the Department of Conservation. The third hut on this site, erected in 1983 by NZFS to replace earlier Nelson Tramping Club shelters, sleeps 16 in simple bunks. It’s a popular Te Araroa stop, easily reached via the Coppermine Trail from Nelson, and offers basic comforts like heating, mattresses and non‑flush toilets with untreated tap water.
