Pyttbua – Climbing, Hiking & Mountaineering information

Pyttbua is located high and free on a sand moraine in the upper part of Puttbudalen, surrounded by proud mountains such as Karitind (1982 m), Høgstolen (1760 m) and Puttegga 1999 (m). The cabin has 51 beds, including a security cabin right next to the main cabin. Steinbua has been restored and is a great option for dogs and owners with three bunks and two cages. You can also get to Pyttbua from Reindalseter through Øvste Reindalen, north of Puttegga, or from Veltdalshytta via Kariløyfti and Radiovatnet to the cabin. There is also a route to Torsbu, over Hellarhøene and along the east side of Torsvatnet. To Vakkerstøylen there is a summer route over Tungerøtene and steeply down to Ulvådalsvatnet, where rowboats are laid out so that you can cross the lake. The boats are taken in at the end of September/beginning of October. The cabin is part of DNT Sunnmøres SignaTUR through Tafjordfjella.
