The Fieldfare cabin is a faithful replica of the wartime barracks that the Linge Company officers and tourist association members Joachim Rønneberg, Birger Strømsheim and Olav Aarsæther built in the spring of 1944, and where they spent the last year of the war. The three had been trained as saboteurs in Britain, and with several different missions in Norway and England behind them, they were dropped into the Tafjordfjella mountains to destroy communications in Romsdal and Lesja. The cabin is named after the name of the operation Rønneberg, Strømsheim and Aarsæther were to carry out, Fieldfare", which means "thrush".
