- Facilities: Motutapere Hut is set in a quiet hollow off the North–South Track in Kaimai Mamaku Conservation Park, offering three bunks and a wood-heated interior with basic comforts. Built originally as a 1970s goat-culling shelter, it was relocated several times before Thames Valley Deerstalkers Association restored it with a new roof and porch. Access via Mt Eliza Mine Track rewards hikers with sunrise views over Tauranga Harbour.
