Luxmore Hut Guide

- Facilities: Luxmore Hut rests at about 1, 085 m above Fiordland’s bushline, offering sweeping views over Lake Te Anau and the Murchison Mountains. Operated by New Zealand’s Department of Conservation as a Great Walk hut since 1988, it sleeps 54 in communal bunkrooms with mattresses, and provides cooking, heating, lighting and flush toilets in season. The climb from Brod Bay is steady but rewarding, with limestone bluffs and alpine tussock en route.
