The Guido Lorenzi Mountain Hut is perched on the rock near Forcella Stounies, a pass on the ridge between the northwestern summit of Cristallo and Cristallino d'Ampezzo, in the vicinity of the Valgrande – Stounies cable car station. Its position is strategic for hikers setting out on the famous Ivano Dibona, Marino Bianchi and René De Pol via ferrata, some stretches of which retrace World War I routes.
