Løkjelsvatnhytta was originally built as a construction barracks in 1916 and rented by Haugesund Tourist Association from 1980. The tourist association became the owner of the barracks in 2001. The hut was restored in the period 2007 to 2010. The safety cabin was built in 2001. There is dramatic nature in this area, but still easily accessible for families with children.
