Built in the 1950s by Jan Gornick and taken over by DOC in 1974, this sole‑occupancy serviced hut sleeps nine and offers gas cooking, a wood‑heater with wet‑back for hot showers, and a flush toilet. Access involves a 2½‑hour walk from Catchpool via the Ōrongorongo Track and a river crossing—check levels before you go.
