Take a trip to Hovstøyl tourist cabin in Fyresdal, near the border with Valle municipality. The shortest access is by parking at Røynbrokktjørn/Nøs, and from there it takes about an hour to walk to the cabin. It is 3-4 kilometers. The hike starts uphill in a forested area, but after about 150 meters in altitude the terrain becomes gentler and more open. The rest of the hike is in slightly hilly terrain, with open pine and birch forests, small bogs and a pond. The trail occasionally goes through slightly boggy terrain, so it is necessary to have good footwear or hiking boots.
