- Facilities: Grassy Flat Hut is found beside the Styx River in the Kelly Range, offering a snug refuge for up to ten trampers in its heated, double‑glazed interior with mattresses and basic toilets. Built by DOC in 2005 to replace earlier gold‑rush era shelters, it lies about 12 km inland from Hokitika and serves as a cosy waypoint on the Arahura–Styx circuit.
