- Facilities: Douglas Rock Hut is set at about 755 m in a forest glade in Westland Tai Poutini National Park, managed by the Department of Conservation. Built in 1931 to replace an earlier bivvy named for explorer Charlie Douglas, it offers eight bunks and a cosy wood‑heater ambience. Access is via the challenging Upper Copland Valley Track from Welcome Flat, where water must be boiled before use.
