Bekkensten is one of the oldest houses in Oppegård, built at the end of the 17th century. Jørgen Stubberud, who accompanied Roald Amundsen on his South Pole expedition, was born and raised at Bekkensten. The cabin is located close to Svartskog in Nordre Follo municipality, about 3 km south of Ingierstrand and about 600 meters along the coastal path north of Roald Amundsen's home.
