Das Rifugio befindet sich etwa hundert Höhenmeter oberhalb der ehemaligen Capanna Soveltra (leider abgebrannt). Aus einer zurückhaltenden Restaurierung bestehender Almgebäude entstanden, dient es heute als Stützpunkt für Wanderer auf der Via Alta Vallemaggia. Die Hütte ist nicht bewartet, es gibt eine Kochmöglichkeit mit Gas. Gruppen können Halbpension beantragen, die aber nur nach Vereinbarung angeboten werden kann.
