The cabin is located in the rearmost area of Val d'Anniviers, beyond Zinal, in the centre of the Valais high mountain world with Zinalrothorn, Ober Gabelhorn, Dent Blanche, Grand Cornier and the corresponding glaciers. The suspension bridge Tsina de Vio and ladders in certain parts facilitate the direct access. The access via Petit Montet is longer and requires the crossing of Zinalgletscher. In summer the cabin offers challenging ascents and col crossings, in winter alpine ski mountaineering tours.
