Einst Militärunterkunft, heute sympathische Hütte auf der Bortelalp. Herrlich gelegener Etappenort des Höhenwegs von Rosswald nach Rothwald oder Ausgangspunkt für eine Besteigung des Bortelhorn. Ein Klettergarten befindet sich in der Nähe. Eigentum vom Skiclub «Simplon», Brig (untere Hütte), und vom Skiclub «Rosswald», Ried-Brig (obere Hütte). In der unteren Hütte gibt es einen 6-plätzigen, immer offenen Winterraum mit Kochmöglichkeit. Bewartet in der Sommersaison.
