It stands on a grassy knoll north of the Campanile di Val Montanaia, a symbol of the Friulian Dolomites Natural Park, which boasts some historic climbing routes. The bivouac, co-owned with the Trieste section, was renovated in 2005 and has 9 beds, a table, and benches. Water is available 100 meters away. The bivouac can be reached from the Pordenone Refuge (1,249 meters above sea level) via CAI trail no. 353, in 2 hours.
