Tutuwai Hut Guide

- Facilities: Tutuwai Hut is found on a river bench beside the Tauwharenīkau River in Tararua Forest Park, offering 20 bunks warmed by a wood burner and simple rain‑tank water taps (boil before use). Built in 1972 by the NZ Forest Service, it’s now managed by DOC as a Standard hut. Accessible via the Holdsworth–Kaitoke route, it’s a popular overnight stop for family tramps.
