- Facilities: Rifugio Monte Barone is set at 1,587 m on the SE slopes of Monte Barone, offering 18 bunks in a welcoming alpine retreat. Built in the 1970s and expanded in 2010, it’s run by the CAI Valsessera under concession from the Piemonte region. A two‑hour hike from Coggiola via trail G1/G8 leads through forest and rocky steps. Modern comforts include hot water, electricity, Wi‑Fi and a restaurant.
