  • Facilities: Rifugio Gigi Casentini is tucked at 1,460 m on the southern ridge of the Appennino Tosco‑Emiliano, nestled between Monte Rondinaio and Femmina Morta. Inaugurated in June 2012 by CAI Lucca, it offers 23 bunk‑style beds across a dormitory and loft, a welcoming refectory and kitchen, and basic comforts powered by a generator and photovoltaic system. A gentle 20‑minute trail from Val Fegana makes it ideal for families and bikers.

It is located on the southern slope of the ridge that divides Tuscany from Emilia, between the Monte Rondinaio and Femmina Morta mountain ranges. The refuge is self-managed by volunteers from the section and offers 32 beds in total and 25 seats in the dining room. It is generally open every summer weekend.
