It is located in the Bessanese-Ciamarella mountain range, in the Crot del Ciaussinè basin. The first refuge dates back to 1880; the second building was inaugurated in 1904, destroyed and rebuilt in 1930 and again in 1970. Today, the old refuge is a branch of the National Mountain Museum of Turin.
