Managed by Elena Bonetta under CAI Brescia, this family-run refuge honors Captain Arnaldo Berni, fallen in WWI. Expanded in the 1980s to about 60 bunks, it blends road access with alpine charm—offering hot water, electricity and hearty local fare amid sweeping Ortles‑Cevedale views.

Located about 2 km from the Gavia Pass, on the Valtellina side of the Stelvio National Park. The refuge, easily reached by car from both Santa Caterina di Valfurva and Ponte di Legno, is a starting point for numerous mountaineering and hiking excursions. It has 60 beds and 54 seats.
