Rangiwahia Hut Guide

- Facilities: Rangiwahia Hut lies at about 1, 311 m on the tussock-clad Whanahuia Range in Ruahine Forest Park, managed by the Department of Conservation. The current serviced hut, built in 1983–84, replaced earlier ski‑club and musterer’s shelters and sleeps 13 in bunks with mattresses. A wood‑burner warms the interior and water comes from a tank—bring your own stove. The well‑graded 2–3 hour track from Renfrew Road offers sweeping views and a historic bridge en route.
