Pakihi Hut Guide

- Facilities: Pakihi Hut is tucked amid dense forest in the Urutawa Conservation Area, roughly halfway along the historic Motu Trails Pakihi Track. Built in the late 1960s and now managed by DOC with support from Nga Tapuwae‑o‑Taneatua Tramping Club, this compact six‑bunk shelter offers basic warmth, mattresses, a non‑flush loo and untreated tap water. It’s a popular overnight stop for trampers, hunters and cyclists.
