- Facilities: Ngamoko Hut is located on a terrace above the Pohangina River in Ruahine Forest Park, offering six bunks warmed by a wood‑burner and simple water and toilet facilities. Managed since 2012 by the Palmerston North Tramping and Mountaineering Club under DOC’s auspices, it’s remote and lightly used. Access involves a demanding 5–8‑hour tramp over Ngamoko Range or a river approach when flows are low.
