Kiwi Burn Hut Guide

- Facilities: Kiwi Burn Hut rests at about 475 m in the Snowdon Forest Conservation Area, managed by DOC. Built in the 1970s, this standard 12‑bunk shelter offers a wood‑burning stove, simple mattresses, non‑flush toilets and untreated tap water to be boiled. A gentle 1.5‑hour walk from the Mararoa swingbridge leads through forest and tussock to a sunny clearing where the hut nestles—ideal for families or Te Araroa walkers.
