- Facilities: Cascade Hut is found at about 775 m in a beech‑framed clearing of Kaimanawa Forest Park, managed by the Department of Conservation. This six‑bunk shelter, built in the 1990s to replace a Forest Service predecessor, offers a wood‑burner, basic mattresses and untreated tap water (boil before use). It’s reached via a 6–8‑hour tramp from Clements Mill Road along the Hinemaiaia Track, beside a dramatic ignimbrite gorge.
