PathFinders is a trekking company based on the principles of sustainability that aims to promote eco-friendly and socially responsible tourism.
We organize trekking trips within Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains emphasizing a community-friendly approach. Our trekking options include Mount
Toubkal ascent, walking the High Atlas valleys, and treks through Berber villages revealing the breathtaking quiet beauty of adjacent valleys. Our activities rely on the knowledge, strong limbs and hospitality of the Berber people, who work as local guides, muleteers and accommodation providers. We believe they are the people who can tell the most about their culture, traditions and way of life to make the whole trekking experience unique and authentic. As organizers of this community-friendly trekking, we create job opportunities for the locals as well as raise money for community projects.
Our aim is to create an alternative narrative, which will connect internationals and locals in a way that will lead to mutual enrichment. Being a Pathfinder is an adventure, which uses one’s capacity to think differently, acknowledge the diversity of human beings, experience a different way of living and contribute towards making the world around us a better place for everyone. At 4,167m, Mount Toubkal (4167m) is the highest mountain in North Africa. The 2 Days Toubkal Trek to the summit is challenging, but it requires no mountaineering experience and the panoramic view from he summit makes the hard work worthwhile.
With the start of the 2 Days Toubkal Trek just a couple of hours drive from Marrakech, you can reach the summit and back within 2 Days Toubkal Trek and still have time to explore Morocco’s most captivating city, Marrakech
To do acclimatisation before Toubkal ascent you will stop for night in Imlil. We recomend you to stay in guest house Dar ouassagou: guesthouseouassaggou.com

- During the winter months, Mt Toubkal and the surrounding peaks of the High Atlas turn into a winter walkers' paradise.
It is a great time to visit: the mountains are virtually deserted apart from the local Berbers and a handful of enthusiasts. The air is clear, rewarding us with spectacular views over the Toubkal Massif and as far as the Anti Atlas Mountain Range to the south.
Starting from fascinating Marrakech we venture right into the heart of the High Atlas to climb North Africa's highest peak (4167m).
Crampons and ice axes may be required on some of the days, but this Atlas Mountain trek is designed to be non-technical and achievable by those who are enthusiastic and fit, even if they are new to winter walking.

From end of October, the summit of Toubkal is often covered by snow, use of crampons and ice axes may be required.
All those mountaineering equipment needed for the ascent can be hired from Atlas Trekking equipment Shop in Imlil; a small shop set by Mohamed and Paul, two mountain guides. Please see more info at atlastrekshop.com

Toubkal can be done in 2days/1night trek with the night spent in one of the Mountain huts. If you have more time then better to do it in 3days by including the Azzaden valley and the Agelzim peaks which will allow you to acclimatize and get over 3555m (agelzim) sleep at 3207m ( base camp) before you reach Toubkal (4165m) on day 3.
Guides can be arranged through atlastrekshop.com , accommodation in Imlil can be at the Dar Adrar Guesthouse daradrar.com
