There are two primary ascent routes located on the western side of the peak. The Classic Route, which is positioned on the northernmost of the two snow and glacier slopes of Muztagh Ata, provides a straightforward ascent devoid of technical difficulties. While some crevasses are present, the route is generally regarded as safe. Conversely, the southern slope of the western side features the less commonly traversed traditional route. Although this route is somewhat longer, it remains equally accessible. The risk associated with crevasses is lower in this area; however, due to its infrequent use by climbers, it may present certain unique challenges. It is advisable to utilize snowshoes or skis, as deep snow may be encountered along the route. Optimal climbing season for this peak extends from mid-June to late August.
