  Am a Chamonix High Mountain Guide and used to guide Mont Blanc in the eighties. Conditions were already deteriorating but now freezing levels are so high that particular care must be taken to avoid Summer months.

  Summited Saturday 28th June at 6am via Gouter route. Snow was softening by time of decent all the way back to Gouter refuge. Grand Couloir very active, no snow. Crossed at 10am friday 27th, big rockfalls for 5 mins. Recrossed 9am 28th, no rockfall.

  Hi Kaido,
  Hell winds up there... It is obviously very cold, but the wind is the problem. If it gets strong: no visibility... and there is some new snow too... if it's possible: try to start climbing on 6th or 7th...

  Watching the weather. Is the mountain still in climbable condition? Can anyone tell me about the snow pack tendencies? Where I'm from after a big snow, the mountain usually needs 24-36 hours of sun for the snow to consolidate and maker good climbing? Looks like snow September 15-17 and then hot clear conditions for follow. Any advice about the local area would be greatly appreciated.

  @ Chris, yes there is :) we went to Tete Rousse yesterday and only snow on the way up and down. Weather has not been so good so far...
