Mittlenberghütte – Climbing, Hiking & Mountaineering information

The hut is situated at an altitude of 2394 m on a small shoulder below the Mittläberg, 2500 m. In a wonderful location with an unobstructed view to the west from the Weisshorn to the Dents du Midi, it is an ideal starting point for easy ski tours in the rear Binntal valley or as a starting point for crossings or round tours in the rear Formazza valley with famous and rewarding peaks such as Blinnenhorn, 3373 m, Ofenhorn, 3235 m or Rappenhorn, 3158 m, to name but a few. The Mittlenberghütte has 22 places in two bedrooms on the upper floor, lounge, kitchen and hut warden's room on the ground floor. The hut is continuously serviced in winter during March and April and in summer from the end of June to mid-October. There is no winter room and the hut is not accessible without the warden.
