Fissile Peak Climbing Notes

Dave from CANADA writes:

The easiest approach via whistler gondola and then follow trail leading to Russet lake About 4-5 hrs. Camping at base by Russet lake.
Fissle Mt. early September 2016.
ABSOLUTE CHOSS PILE!!! Made our final approach on the north face (no fixed gear) to about 2/3 of the way.......nothing but iron rusted scree and falling rocks.....Decided to pull the pin. As soon as we got back to the snow line we decided glissade the rest of our decent. about 45 seconds lol.
deff a trad route there but you'll be taking a greater risk than is deserved by that loosely mounded pile off rocks!
ps. I spoke with a hiker who says it's a great winter mt. for backcountry ski/boarding! guess I got my seasons wrong. lol

pps. Name Notes: Fissile is a term used to refer to the way mudstones split along layers, parallel to the plane of bedding (or in other words "shite")
