A traditional SAC cabin on a rocky promontory 300 m above the valley of Chelenreuss, beyond Göscheneralpsee. There is an unobstructed view into the end of an icy valley and to the granite peaks on the other side. There are mountain trails and mixed high alpine tours in summer and this is a stopover on the challenging alpine «Fünf-Hütten-Panoramaweg». Various climbing parks are near the cabin. In winter this is a stopover on the multi-day ski mountaineering tour «Urner Haute Route».
