Woolshed Creek Hut Guide

- Facilities: Woolshed Creek Hut is tucked at about 811 m in Hakatere Conservation Park’s Mt Somers area. Operated by DOC and bookable year‑round, it replaced an older musterers’ hut in 2006. The two-room shelter sleeps 26 on bunks with mattresses, warmed by a wood‑burner and supplied with rain‑tank water (boil before drinking). Approaches via the historic Miners Track or the scenic Rhyolite Ridge reveal mining relics, tussock and beech forest.
