Since 2003, Ytre Nordfjord Turlag has had a lease agreement with the Norwegian Coastal Administration to operate Skongenes Lighthouse. The lighthouse was built in 1870 as an approach lighthouse from the infamous Stadhavet. Towards the end of World War II, the lighthouse buildings were so damaged by an air raid that it had to be rebuilt. The lighthouse as we know it today was completed in 1949. With us, you get the feeling of being a lighthouse keeper during your stay, you get to spend the night in the lighthouse keeper's house, experience fantastic sunsets and enjoy the silence in the warm yard. Here you can taste rhubarb, blackcurrants and currants. The weather can be capricious and changes quickly out here in the open sea. It is recommended to bring good clothes and shoes all year round. The lighthouse is part of the Coastal Trail.
