- Facilities: Rifugio Premuda Mario rests at just 70 m above sea level at the entrance to Val Rosandra, making it the lowest alpine hut on Italy’s mainland. Built in 1940 by the Società Alpina delle Giulie and refreshed in 1989, it now welcomes hikers, climbers, families and even pets with hot meals, electricity and bike access. It offers no beds but serves as a beloved, accessible refuge under new management by Almost Blue srls.

The lowest refuge in Italy is located at the mouth of the Rosandra Valley, not far from the village of Bagnoli della Rosandra. The refuge is temporarily closed. Pending new management.
